Maple Hill Kennels was established in 1992

This very nice kennel is located in a pretty country setting  just 10 min. south of Kemptville, 4 km west of Hwy 416 and about 20-40 min. south of Ottawa, Ont. (30 min. from the Hunt Club Bridge).

The building is architect designed with the specific care and well being of all pets in mind. Heating, cooling, air exchange, hygiene, safety, and security are the primary concerns in the design, build, and operation of Maple Hill Kennels.

We take care of dogs and cats during their owners' travels, providing a home away from home for each pet. The owner lives on the property and is available to take care of all pets.

All our visitors receive individual age and breed-specific attention and care. 

We provide centrally air-conditioned / heated and very clean kennels. The floor of the indoor kennels are 100% covered with solid rubber, making the entire floor a mat. No dog is sleeping on concrete or tile even if they choose not to use the provided blankets and beds. Old dogs will not slip or aggravate arthritic conditions.

Nutrition is provided as per owner's instructions.

Each Canine guest will have its own indoor run with access to its own private outdoor play area.  Beds and bedding are provided and machine-washed as often as required, usually daily. You are welcome to bring toys or other comfort items for your pet.

This kennel is well equipped to keep pets for long-term boarding ranging from over-night to many months. Pets go home in excellent physical and mental condition and will be happy to visit again, making us a "second" home for your pet.

Feline guests are comfortable in their separate room with several large picture windows. The room is very sunny and comfortable. Each cat will be in its own private and several-level feline apartment. Family cats can stay together but are never mixed with strange cats. Daily cleaned litter boxes are at the lower level and well separated from the sleeping and feeding area. We specialize in long term cat boarding well suited to the needs of people who travel for many weeks or months. Snowbirds, Embassy, Postings, Relocations, Hospital Stays........ Or just for a day or weekend. No stay is too short or too long.

Maple Hill Kennels' clients are cared for by the owner Wiebke, (pronounced Veebka). I immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1974. I have lived in many places in the world and have made Canada my home; a Registered Nurse with a post grad in Psychiatry and member of the Canadian Military in the past. Due to marriage, resigned with the Rank of Captain and at that time turned my beloved hobby into my work. I have worked with dogs my entire life; I have bred Whippets for 20 years and later Sphynx cats. At this time I am not breeding dogs or cats any longer as I am too busy taking care of all our canine and feline guests.

Colin Moore is the kennel manager. Colin has vast experience with pets, is kind and gentle and well suited to care for your pet in my absence or with me during our busy times.
