Maple Hill Kennels is a small country kennel where we take time to become familiar with each dog's individuality and are able to address any special concerns. Our Hours are designed to give each guest a consistent schedule and rest periods.

We provide centrally air-conditioned / heated kennels and they are kept very clean. The air is constantly exchanged through Life Pumps.

Nutrition is provided per owner's instructions. Each canine guest will have its own indoor run with access to its own private outdoor play area. Beds and bedding are provided and washed as often as required, usually daily. You are welcome to bring toys or other comfort items for your pet. This kennel is well equipped to keep pets for long-term boarding ranging from over-night to many months. Pets go home in excellent physical and mental condition and are happy to visit again, making us a "second" home for your pet.

Each pet receives  personal attention and care.

Many clients consider us their home away from home and for most pets it becomes a second home.

Vaccinations

Please bring your recent vaccination documents for the first visit.

Your vaccination routine is a decision made between you and your Vet. Please do not vaccinate within just a few days before boarding. If you have any concerns regarding dates please call me at 613 258 1000 and we will find a solution.

Food

Food is provided and included in the boarding fee. We feed Peerless dry food. It is the same brand I have been feeding my own show dogs for 30 years . Many of our regular clients purchase this brand here. Should you prefer not to switch your dogs diet, you are very welcome to bring your own . Should you choose to feed raw or frozen food, a daily handling fee will apply since we have to use freezer and/or fridge space and extra time for preparation. We will feed per your instructions.

Medications

Medications, including injections, will be given as per your instruction. A small fee will apply per administration depending on the type and frequency of medication.

Bedding

We provide all bedding. The type depends on the individual dog. Bedding can include donut beds in baskets, mats on raised beds, blankets, and " sheepskin fluffies". We do NOT charge extra for bedding as every pet should have appropriate bedding. Bedding is usually washed every day and we ask you to please NOT bring your own since we wash the bedding all the time and will get yours mixed up, or it could get damaged in the washer. (If you have extra blankets at home, feel free to donate them to us, as we "go through" many blankets)

Toys

Every dog suite has several safe toys included; Kong's, bones, squeekies, balls and others. You are welcome to bring your own toys, but occasionally we lose them, so please do not bring anything too valuable. At times, a pet comes with toys we consider unsafe for your dog. Please do not be upset if we inform you regarding the danger of certain dog toys and chews.

Treats

We provide treats; Milk bones and chewies, treats in Kong's. Treats will be breed specific. You are welcome to bring your own as well, however, we make "cookie rounds" twice a day for all dogs.

Cautions

Please advise us regarding any medical concerns and allergies as well as any emergency information and instructions. In addition to your contact numbers, we will ask you for the name of your current Veterinarian as well as a contact person who is able to pick your dog up and take to the Veterinarian. If you do not have any such contact person, I require special instruction regarding emergency care provisions.
